Every spring the Peace Studies Society organizes a conference in order to educate students and the community about peace, as well as honor students who have taken action. This year we are hosting our third annual Student Peace Conference in the Mershon Center on campus, with the focus of our even being “Practices and Strategies of Nonviolence”. We hope to bring students, faculty, and community members together to share and to learn about peace.
The conference will be March 31st from 3pm until 8pm. We will begin the conference with a networking hour for student organizations. After we will have a peace related workshop for all attendees. We are organizing a panel that relates to our topic of “Practices and Strategies of Nonviolence” in order to learn and discuss peace. At the end of our conference, we will be presenting an award and scholarship to one deserving student on our campus who has contributed to peace in some way.
